Terms of Service

1. The service

RIA Ascent is operated by Ascent Growth Platforms Inc. It provides lookups of registered investment advisers built from public regulatory filings, the RIAAS score, and Firm Portrait valuation estimates, including information firms provide themselves. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms, to our Privacy Policy, and to How we use your data, which are part of these terms.

2. Who can use it

You must be 18 or older. RIA Ascent is for professional and business use by people who own, operate, work at, or work with registered investment advisers.

3. Your account

One account is for one person. Give accurate information, keep your sign-in secure, and tell us at hello@riaascent.com if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity under it.

4. Claiming a firm

You may claim or link to a firm only if you are entitled to represent it. An owner claim is for people listed on the firm's Schedule A with 5% or more ownership. We may review, decline or remove a claim that rests on inaccurate information.

5. What you enter

You may enter only firm information you have the right to share. It stays yours. You give us permission to use it to provide the service to your firm; stripped of anything that identifies your firm, to build benchmarks, trends and insights; and to match your firm with vendors, partners and acquirers, sharing anything that identifies it only if you choose — as described in How we use your data. Enter it accurately to the best of your knowledge.

6. Acceptable use

Do not breach or probe our security, reverse-engineer or disrupt the service, scrape or bulk-download data without our permission, use someone else's account, misrepresent yourself or your firm, or submit unlawful content.

7. Our content

RIA Ascent, its name and marks, the RIAAS score, the Firm Portrait, our methodology and our software belong to Ascent Growth Platforms Inc. Public regulatory data comes from public sources and remains public.

8. Estimates, not advice

RIAAS scores and Firm Portrait estimates are indicative. They are based on public filings, the information firms provide, and our methodology. They are not appraisals or fairness opinions, and nothing in RIA Ascent is legal, financial, tax, accounting or investment advice. Do not rely on them as the basis for a transaction without professional advice.

9. Third-party services

Links to other services, such as scheduling tools, go to providers we do not control, and their own terms apply.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that it is accurate, complete, or always available.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you have paid nothing.

12. Ending your use

You may stop using RIA Ascent and ask us to close your account at any time by emailing hello@riaascent.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

13. Changes

We will post changes here with a new effective date, and tell you about any material change.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by Delaware law, and Delaware courts have jurisdiction.
